Gorgeous Wedding at Rockford's Klehm Arboretum
I was so thrilled when Andrea reached out to me to be her photographer and she told me her venue that she had choses was Klehm Arboretum. This is one of my favorite places to shoot weddings. Not only is the ceremony location very beautiful with large space surrounded by a variety of trees, flowers, and evergreens, but it also has a small pavilion where the bride and groom stand with an ivy covered trellis in the background. The grounds also offer other various locations to have intimate ceremonies. The artistic potential to take photographs is limitless. There are enchanting pathways, a pond with a little bridge, beautiful open fields and so much more. Can you see why I love this place so much?
You can't tell by looking at the photographs, but it was a HOT day! But that didn't stop Andrea and Derek from showing their love for each other and the sheer joy of the day through the photos. We made it work by running back and forth from the comfort of the air conditioned bridal suite to the outdoors. The bride-maids were fanning the bride to keep her cool.
Andrea decided to have the reception out in the new Pavillion which has lights strung along the beams and sweeping white fabric cascading down to the floor. The decor was elegant and traditional with plenty of fresh flowers and greenery. My favorite detail was the huge Donut Wall Derek hand made for his wedding. They were so good- I may or may not have eaten one of every flavor; sorry, not sorry.
